Welcome the inaugural issue of Inside the Music Business E- Monthly.
For the past decade, I have been building the Inside the Music Business brand of products and services. What started out as a book 2 CD set has evolved into a multi media company that provides unique ‘tools for success in the music business’ through products, services and events.
Inside the Music Business is dedicated to “edutainment” - providing entertainment mixed with educational tips and strategies from power players. Inside the Music Business as a company also provides exposure and networking opportunities for indie artists and aspiring music industry professionals of all genres.
What is the E-Monthly?
The Inside the Music Business E-Monthly is a multi-media e-zine, complete with audio & video interviews, exclusive footage, pictures, reviews and of course, music! It’s filled with tips, advice from industry power players as well as news and features from some of today’s top music journalists - all tying into what’s going on in the biz and what you need to do to thrive in this ever-changing business of music.
We have segments like “Producers Mix,” “Legal Corner,” which provide important ‘how to’ tips. In this inaugural issue the Producers Mix features Steve Bogard (Grammy Winning Songwriter/Producer/Nashville Songwriters Association International President) while the Legal Corner features Steve Gordon (Entertainment Attorney/Author). Both segments feature informative and entertaining streaming audio interviews (which are part of the forthcoming Inside the Music Business Radio Show) with MC Serch.

Additionally we have features that have both an entertainment and educational side to them. In this issue we are featuring Notorious B.I.G and Bruce Springsteen – two icons in their respective genres.
Inside the Music Business takes you behind the scenes at the ‘NOTORIOUS’ movie premiere with amazing photos; also featured is the Biggie and Junior Mafia 1995 Boxtalk (from the channel where I started my career – In 2000 the Box merged into MTV2 in 2000). Additionally Bad Boy Entertainment has provided us access for you to view the ‘Diddy Diaries,’ – an introspective video blog series from Sean “Diddy”Combs - this is an extremely personal video blog that is a ‘must see.’
2009 has certainly started off with a bang for Bruce Springsteen. Inside the Music Business provides ‘studio footage’ from the recording of ‘Workin’ on a Dream’ album, video from his remarkable performance at “We Are One;” pics from his Superbowl performance courtesy of our friends from Backstreets Magazine as well as objective reviews and thoughts on the Boss from music journalist Roy Trakin.
Speak of Roy, his ‘Trakin Care of Business’ columns and music reviews are part of our E-Monthly as well!
One of the things we are most excited about in doing this E-monthly is the ability to expose music in its trues form – via a listening station. In the Inside the Music Business listening station, you’ll find an eclectic mix of music from today’s hottest charting artists to some of the best indie artists out there.
Additional segments include a poignant blog from my partner in crime, MC Serch; music videos, and some of the top news stories provided by our friends at Music Dish Network.
As we launch this inaugural issue of the E-Monthly, I would like to suggest that you actively participate – whether it’s submitting a song, emailing this to your friends and associates or submitting a question in our ‘Ask the Attorney’ interface in the Legal Corner.
Inside the Music Business is proud to provide a cadre of products and services for indie artists, small businesses and labels alike. These include a an educational DVD set featuring more than 30 industry players, consulting, website design, commercial and music video production to name a few. Please be sure to check out our full listing here on the E-monthly or on our InsideTheMusicBusiness.com website. Finally, IMB has a passion for doing events. In the past two years we have produced a conference and mixer series. Look for information about these in upcoming issues.
